David R. Punshon is a British composer. Helped form the 'Babe Ruth' rock/jazz band in 1972 which was signed to EMI's Harvest label for 25 years, making international award winning albums. Studied jazz keyboards and composition at Leeds, orchestration in London and conducting with Laurence Leonard. In the early 1990s, studied Mozart's Musical Dice Game and saw the potential of interactive music within computer games. Later in the 1990s helped Microsoft to develop DirectMusic which is loosely based upon Mozart's game. Went on to use DirectMusic in 5 Lego games. For the past 12 years David has been helping to expand the frontiers of interactive music through writing orchestral scores for computer games with fellow composer Richard Wells. David has written a new Flute and Harp Concerto for Flautist Karin Leitner.
