Dan Miyakawa is a Japanese composer, arranger, musician, saxophonist, and keyboardist from Tokyo. He graduated from Waseda University. Around this time, he joined a band called Love Tambourines. For the band, he served as a saxophonist, keyboardist, programmer, flute, and an arranger for the group.

He worked on a couple video games, most notably Kirby Super Star. However, he worked at HAL Laboratory for a very short period of time, and it is unknown what his exact role was or if his work even made it into the game.

After leaving HAL, he became a full-time musician. He composed, arranged, produced, and remixed music. He has also arranged theme songs for films.

Audio Development

SNES

For Kirby Super Star, Dan either used, or had his compositions converted to HAL Laboratory's version of Nintendo's Kankichi-kun sound driver. The game uses the second version of their sound driver.
