Contra: Hard Corps (a pun on the phrase "Hardcore") is a game published in Europe as Probotector and in Japan as 魂斗羅 ザ・ハードコア (Kontora Za Hādokoa) is a side-scrolling Run and Gun game, developed and published by Konami in 1994 for the world, but in South Korea it was Samsung, it is the first game in the Contra series released for a Sega console.
The story took place in 2641 AD. C. (five years after the events of Contra III: The Alien Wars), the alien threat is over and civilization is rebuilt. To enforce law and order in the recreated world, the Joint Military Special Mobile Task Force KX (also known as "Hard Corps") was established.
The game begins when the security system is breached, causing robots to escape and wreak havoc in the city. The droid uprising is just a distraction to get the attention of the Hard Corps team, while an unknown task force infiltrates the city's defense computer complex. Remote investigations lead to Colonel Bahamut, the hero of "Alien Warfare," whose goal is to rule the world with the help of alien cells stored in a defense facility. This augments the members of the Hard Corps task force to investigate and defeat this threat.
Depending on the path the player chooses, the story may vary. This is reflected in five different good endings and one bad ending.
All regional versions, changing some details, censoring things, modifying the official gameplay of the Japanese and European version being the American version the most difficult, was better received than the SNES Contra which ate it alive in many technical aspects.

The development of the unique music was done by the audio director Hiroshi Kobayashi who commanded the sound work, the music had the characteristic of being part faithful and full of unbridled action that Contra had.
This soundtrack consists of 29 tracks for different situations that the player faced in the game and that had several endings at the end of decisions taken by the player.
Its music was characterized more chip tune type pop type mixed in an 8 bits way but it was based on 16 Bits PCM with the help of the YM2612.
