Cube (Kyūbu Kabushikigaisha 株式会社キューブ) is a Japanese music studio formed in late 1989. The company specializes in professional music and sound production for several types of media including movies, television, and even video games.

Audio Development

Game Boy

A sound driver was programmed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, and the composers wrote the music in assembly. However, interestingly, Sakimoto does not credit himself with the sound driver's creation on the Basiscape website.

Genesis

CUBE used two different sound drivers for the Genesis, one by Yasuhiro Taguchi, and the other by Masaru Suzuki called YMOIMO, which might refer to the Japanese band Yellow Magic Orchestra.

SNES

CUBE used a variant of Nintendo's Kankichi-kun. It was reprogrammed by Masumi Takimoto.

Note: This lists all of the games that credit Cube. For specific composer credits, see each person in the Audio Personnel's page.
