BreakThru! is a puzzle game developed by Artech and published by Spectrum Holobyte. It was endorsed (but not designed by) the creator of Tetris, Alexey Pajitnov.
Like Tetris, the goal is quite simple; different colored blocks appear on the screen and must be cleared. This is done by matching two or more of the same color together. The more matching blocks are cleared, the higher you score, so you want to try to put together as many matching colors as possible before clearing them. There also various powerups that can be dropped occasionally such as one that destroys adjacent blocks or clears an entire row.
The games levels are split off into various locations around the world; Berlin, London, San Francisco, Moscow, New York, Beijing. Naturally, the levels progressively increase in difficulty.
The game received positive reviews upon its release, but was slated for not matching the fun or addictiveness of Tetris.
BreakThru! was released for numerous platforms such as Windows, Game Boy, and even the Japanese-exclusive Playstation and Sega Saturn versions. A Game Gear version was also made, but was left unreleased.

Music
The game does not disappoint in the audio department. All the songs are ported from the DOS version, using the lower fidelity instruments that the Super Nintendo could provide. Paul Mogg and Joseph White came together to provide and amazing soundtrack while Andrew Edlen's New York song is really catchy.
Edlen had this to say about the New York music:
David Warhol programmed and provided to Artech the game's music driver, though he is only credited in the manual for music orchestration and goes by the alias of his company Realtime Associates.
