Bionic Commando: The 8-bit Soundtrack contains the original music of Bionic Commando (NES). It was released in 2008 to help promote the game's remake, Bionic Commando: Rearmed. The soundtrack features the best of the NES game's music, but it's missing several tracks that would make it complete. The background music during the Albatross battle is absent and all of the fanfares are missing, including: Game Start, Victory, Game Over, and You Win. Also, the first part of the Prologue and the first part of the Epilogue are missing in the combined track.

Most of the game's soundtrack was composed and arranged by Junko Tamiya, but a couple tracks were rearranged from the original arcade game which was composed by Harumi Fujita. The last track on the album is a trailer for the Bionic Commando: Rearmed soundtrack. It begins with Tamiya's NES arrangement of Fujita's original Bionic Commando Theme and then morphs into the techno-sounding Bionic Commando Rearmed Theme by Simon Wiklund.
