World Darts
World Darts - AST - UK.jpg
Platform: Atari ST
Year: 1988
Developer: Binary Design Limited

World Darts is ported from World Darts (AMI), probably the last version Binary Design had before former employees took it with them to Zippo Games. It has no options at all, you always play against 2 of 7 computer opponents, and you always need 2 points first to beat your opponent. The in-game board is most informative, showing all scores. The controls are based on the earliest ports, only that your hand sinks as you stop moving the joystick. Starting the game is a bit confusing: Once you hit the joystick button, the title screen and speech are repeated once before the game automatically starts for real.

Verge of tears? 'coz of strained wrist or low score?

Intelligent keyboard. Still no saving.

Music

For a pleasant change, the Atari ST soundtrack uses no square waves and noises at all, it uses only samples, and fairly atmospheric ones: 1 song, 2 speeches and 5 sound effects (2 unused), all at 9600 Hz.

Recording

The song was recorded from the game in Hatari v2.2.1.
