World Darts (AMI)
World Darts is a revamp of the 180 8-bit games. It has lots of options, a high score table and new, serious-looking characters (nevertheless with spoof names), though no Around the Clock sub-game anymore.
The Amiga port was originally developed at Binary Design, until a few employees formed Zippo Games and Musicon Design and took their work with them. It was probably developed at the same time as the port for publisher Mastertronic's Arcadia cabinets, itself based on Amiga hardware. It even has an arcade-style high score entry (rather annoying on home computers with keyboard), the unused (and useless) speech "Put your money in", and both are the only ports to mention Mastertronic's American subsidiary, also named Arcadia. The latter fact and the music tempo being closer to all other ports on NTSC rather than PAL suggests that this British-made and largely European-reviewed port was made for the American market. This should be verified and the soundtrack re-recorded if necessary.
The Amiga port features ports of the two most common songs. Although the Amiga could play samples of real instruments or synthesizers, all samples are pre-calculated and still sound rather chippy. It is probably an early work of Jason Brooke.
All songs were recorded from the game in WinUAE 4.3.0 at PAL and sound effects disabled in a snapshot.
