War on Wheels (NES)
|War on Wheels|
War on Wheels was an unreleased NES game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Jaleco. The game has been dumped and a ROM is now available. It is unknown why the game was never released.
The game takes place in several rollerskating rinks. You will have to fight through your 5 opponents.
War on Wheels features similar graphics and sound to Eliminator Boat Duel (NES). The cutscenes in this game are animated by still images.
The game contains 12 songs composed by Sculptured Software's main composer Paul Webb. The teams' stadiums have their own theme which ends with an infinite drum loop. The Results Theme instruments go off sync, so the recording is continuously looped until the instruments sync again.
Paul Webb composed the music on his sampler keyboards at Sculptured. His compositions were then converted to Ken Moore's sound driver.

- Game Credits:
Paul has stated Ken Moore programmed Sculptured Software's NES sound driver. Ken was never credited for anything under audio.
The VGZ files were logged in MESS 0.154 with ValleyBell's VGM Mod during game play. Hacking was required to prevent the title screen from changing, thus slowing down the song. There are no known unused songs.
The game uses the Ricoh RP2A03. The DPCM channel is not used.
