Ultima Theme is a song composed by Ken Arnold and used as the title theme of Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny, and again in Ultima IV: The False Prophet. The song has a very powerful, almost suspenseful sound.
The title comes from the Jukebox in the Apple II version of Ultima 5.
Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny (A2)
The very first incarnation of the Ultima Theme was designed for the Apple II version. It plays at the game's title screen and as the victory theme when you've slain all the enemies in a battle.
Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny (C64)
The Ultima Theme sounds similar on the Commodore's SID chip as on the Apple's Mockingboard. The song plays at the title screen and as a victory theme. The song only plays on a Commodore 128.
Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny (AST)
Ultima VI: The False Prophet (DOS)
Like the game before it, the Ultima Theme plays at the main menu of Ultima 6. While the quality of music has been increased a little, the over all composition of the song has remain untouched. Herman Miller most likely arranged the song since he began work on the game's soundtrack, though it may have been someone else. The Ultima Theme is also one of the four songs that is randomly played after conversations, so you will hear the song all throughout the game.
The original file is named Ultima.m.
Ultima VI: The False Prophet (C64)
The Commodore port of Ultima 6 uses the same music as Ultima 5.
Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny - Exodus Project (DOS)
This version appears on the same places with Apple II release. It plays slightly slower than Commodore version, making it increase 4 seconds in length.
