Tekken Advance in Japanese ('鉄拳アドバンス - Tekken Adobansu) is a spin-off in 2.5D spin-off of the Tekken saga, a fighting game released exclusively for Game Boy Advance based on another game Tekken Tag Tournament as an official demake, developed by Eighting Co. Inc and published by Namco in America and Japan, distributed in Europe by Infogrames in 2001.
Although it shares similarities with other games in the series, because it is portable, some elements have been removed or simplified. It uses a single input system, with the left and right triggers used for switching and pushing, respectively, and the A button for punches and the B button for kicks.
A wide variety of "stun" execution variations, including "lightning stun", "reduced stun" and right/left stun, are implemented in Tekken Advance despite its simplification. It has several modes, including this one: ARCADE VS BATTLE, TIME ATTACK, SURVIVAL TAG, BATTLE VS TAG, BATTLE PRACTICE. The Vs. battle mode is played through a GBA Cable Link with another user, and the tag battle mode is played with several 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3 players. The swapping mechanic, which was first used in Tekken Tag Tournament, is also used in Tekken Advance, the second game in the series.
It was used all that was possible in the Nintendo handheld, due to several technical limitations, it was used many sprites in 2D but the scenario was 2.5D but then the characters were prerendered in 3D, very similar music of the saga, decent graphics, very successful gameplay, different mechanics and unique things, there are no replays at the end of the rounds and has support for Stereo, GBA cable Link and compatible with Game Boy Player.
Reception was somewhat decent in many respects but according to the press, It looks and feels close enough to its counterpart to succeed, it's a very good demake for a Namco game but on a handheld that received a lot of major adaptations.

It was made by Atsuhiro Motoyama and Hitoshi Sakimoto who were in charge of the audio section, they did their best to keep the original essence of the saga by bringing it to Game Boy Advance, the music is characterized by Electronic type songs mixed with Pop.
As it was based on Tekken Tag Tournament, it inherited many features but it is similar in terms of melodies, but it is categorized as a spin-off and demake.
The tracks consist of 11 songs, 1 additional SFx song based on the GSF chip that gave the chiptune system, 1 more found in the internal files with features of the Tekken 3 Intro, which many were very similar to songs from the Tekken games.
Each round has its own song depending on the character and the scenario, very similar to the Virtua Fighter composition, each of them has the style of the level, situation and difficulty that the player will face in the title.
