Steve Shapiro is an American musician and vibraphonist. He has performed with several bands such as Steely Dan, Phil Collins, and Spyro Gyra.

In the late 90's, he worked for Disney Interactive and did the music for a few of their games.

Since 1990, Steve has been operating his music business, Vibraphonic Music.

Steve said this about the music for Toy Story, the Windows version:

“

This was from the mid-1990’s. I remember I had a Mac with a G3 processor back then, with limited digital audio tracks. There were live musicians on there, but mainly samples in Digidesign SampleCell. I had all the available libraries, and created samples of my own. At lot was the Prosonus collection, which I still use in Kontakt now. As I recall, the piano was from a Roland JD-800. That had a great Randy Newman sort of piano. Some of those Toy Story projects used Quicktime Midi sounds, which was a disaster if the system sounds weren’t properly installed. I transcribed huge amounts of the soundtrack to recreate using Midi, because it had few storage limitations compared to digital audio. A lot of work!
