Star Raiders II is a space combat game and the sequel to Star Raiders (A8). It was released for the Atari 8-bit line. The game was originally designed to be a video game version of The Last Starfighter, but plans for the license fell through, and the game was modified slightly to fit the Star Raiders theme.
In the game, you pilot the Liberty Star, a ship from the Celos IV system which is being attacked by the evil Zylons. You must protect the Celos cities from space by destroying the invading Zylon fighters and destroyers, and taking the battle back to their home planets.
The game was originally released for the Atari 8-bit platform, but it was re-released for the Atari XEGS.
