Platform: NES
Year: 1990
Developer: Park Place Productions
Buy: Amazon

Roundball 2-on-2 Challenge is an NES port of GBA Championship Basketball: Two-on-Two for the C64. It was Park Place Productions' only NES game. The player selects a basketball player and can either play two computers with a computer player on their team, or go one-on-one with a computer player. One easter egg this game offers is that all the selectable basketball players are named after the game developers. While the game has a nice concept, it is executed poorly, as the game is too hard to play. The computer player always seems to be perfect at the game, no matter what difficulty.

Music

The game does not offer a lot of music. Only four songs are in the entire game. While it may not necessarily what you would call Basketball music, it still sounds pretty good, but it uses a dull 25% square wave for the music. The music was not ported from the computer version but rather originally composed music by Michelle Simon, the main composer at Park Place Productions. The music was composed in Cakewalk for MS-DOS. The title and end of game music does not loop.

According to one of the staff members at Park Place Productions, the music driver was programmed by Russell Lieblich.
