Performer is a MIDI sequencer developed for the Macintosh and Atari ST by MOTU. The program has roots in an earlier program called Professional Composer which would allow users to create and print out sheet music, but lacked the ability to sequence music.
In 1990, Performer was superseded by Digital Performer, which added the ability to play digital samples.
