Paul Mudra was born on August 14th, 1965. He grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. He began working for Westwood Studios in 1988 as their main sound designer along with Dwight Okahara. When Frank Klepacki started working at Westwood, Paul and Dwight appeared to have less music credits, and were usually credited for sound design. Paul stayed with Westwood after Electronic Arts bought the company in 1998. When EA closed Westwood Studios, Mudra and a couple of his co-workers began working at Insomniac Games in April of 2003. There he became the audio director. Besides music and sound, Mudra has also worked on game design and voice acting.

Music Composition
DOS
Paul Mudra used AdLib Visual Composer for his music and ALFX for his sound effects.
NES
For his NES music he used Deluxe Music Construction Set on the Commodore Amiga. The music was then converted to Westwood's NES sound driver. Mudra worked on the sound driver, but Dwight Okahara may have had something to do with the driver as well since he worked on the NES Vindicators.
According to Mudra, for the development of Vindicators, he and Okahara had received sheet music for the original arcade songs in a manila-colored envelope from Japan, and were able to translate the music to the NES better because of it.
SNES
Paul initially started off writing music for Young Merlin (SNES) in assembly, using Chip Level Designs' version of Kankichi-kun sound driver.
For The Lion King (SNES), he presumably wrote down MIDI files which was converted into Bitmasters' sound driver.

Trivia
On the back of the box of Hilsfar (DOS), the minotaur's name in the arena is Moodra. This is most likely a reference to Paul's last name.
