Neil Brennan was a game programmer and the first audio creator that worked at Beam Software. He created the NES sound driver at Beam and worked on porting music from arcades or computer games.

He was born in 1964 in Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania) to parents of Irish extraction, and emigrated to Australia at the age of 4. He attended Carey Baptist Grammar School and the University of Melbourne, graduating in 1987 with a major in Computer Science. He was an active contributor to the vibrant Melbourne music scene, playing in various bands including Macguffins, Stick Figures, Redfish Bluefish and Linoleum.

After leaving Beam Software in 1988, he moved to work in mainstream computing in libraries, telcos, utilities and financial institutions. He currently leads a development team at Sensis (Telstra's directories division) and continues to reside in Melbourne. He has 3 children.
