Neil Baldwin is a British composer who was the main audio composer at Eurocom. He wrote music for all of their NES games. Some games he wrote the music for were never released. He also made a music tracker program that emulates the NES sound chip called Ninjuu. Baldwin also made NTRQ, which is a tracker that runs on a real NES. He also made Pulsar, which runs at a whopping 200Hz, while the regular NTSC NES ran at 60Hz. Neil also wrote the music for a game called 'Erik the Viking' which was not released, but Baldwin, from keeping his source code over the years, has managed to convert his source code into NSF.

Music Development

I'd written my own music/audio drivers for the C64 and so, with the invaluable help of Tim Rogers, I set about trying to do the same for the NES. One thing I got to quickly realise was how utterly unsophisticated the NES was compared to the C64 and began to understand why most NES music sounded the way it did - you just couldn't do much else with it!

Neil developed an NES sound driver with Tim Rogers and entered the music in 6502 assembly code.
