Music Construction Set called The Orchestrator on Atari ST, is a simple sequencer ported to many different devices. The program was designed by Will Harvey, who programmed the original Apple II version when he was only 15 years old. The program was considerably different on various computers, as each had completely different audio hardware. The PC and Apple II were the worst with single channel tone generators, the Atari 8-bit supported 4 channels, the Commodore 64 had the famous SID chip, but the Apple IIgs and Atari ST had the best audio systems of the lot.

A more impressive version of the program was released for Amiga and Macintosh under the title Deluxe Music Construction Set.

Composers

The Commodore 64 version does not support using songs in other programs, but Ahead Designs used their own driver and converter for their games.
