Murder on the Mississippi is an early text adventure game developed and published by Activision in 1986. The player controls a Sherlock Holmes-esque detective named Charles Foxworth, along with his servant Regis. While traveling on a boat from St. Louis to New Orleans, the two sleuths find a dead body. So now it's up to them to solve the mystery before the boat reaches New Orleans.
Murder on the Mississippi was also ported to Apple II and later released in Japan on MSX2 and Famicom as Mississippi Satsujin Jiken (MSX2) and Mississippi Satsujin Jiken (NES).
