Monster Bash is a platform action adventure game. You play the role of Johnny Dash, a slingshot toting scamp who is out to rescue his dog Tex who has been kidnapped by the vampire Count Chuck. Through three episodes and 9 missions per episode you must fight your way through many frightening monsters like zombies, witches, demons, werewolves, and many more. The levels themselves are covered in dangerous traps and hazards, and nearly everything is out to get you. The learning curve is very sharp, and you'll no doubt become frustrated even on easy difficulty. However, if you take the game slowly and observe your surroundings carefully you can avoid most of the pitfalls. The graphics are amazing for an EGA action game. All of the backgrounds and sprites are very detailed and fluid. The music is also really good for FM synthesis. Despite the youthful protagonist and cartoon theme, Monster Bash is not for kids. While the game isn't scary, it is extremely difficult and the slow responding keyboard controls make playing the game a test of patience.

Monster Bash is a platform action adventure game. You play the role of Johnny Dash, a slingshot toting scamp who is out to rescue his dog Tex who has been kidnapped by the vampire Count Chuck. Through three episodes and 9 missions per episode you must fight your way through many frightening monsters like zombies, witches, demons, werewolves, and various other creatures. The levels themselves are covered in dangerous traps and hazards, and nearly everything is out to get you. The learning curve is very sharp, and you'll no doubt become frustrated even on easy difficulty. However, if you take the game slowly and observe your surroundings carefully, you can avoid most of the pitfalls.

Music

Monster Bash has really nice music for a PC game of the early 1990s. Rob Wallace gives a fine-tuned performance with tracks that fit the spooky monster theme. His song Bach Bash plays off of JS Bach's "Toccata and Fugue In D Minor". The music was written in Digital Orchestrator Pro.
