Mitsunori Ogihara is a Japanese composer, sound designer, and sound programmer who composed music for ASCII. He has attended many colleges, graduating with degrees in computer science. He is currently a faculty member at the University of Rochester teaching computer science.

His name in the staff credits of some games credit him as "Ogiwara".

Music Composition

NES

The NES programmable sound generator system was very simple. There were only four sound generators, one which is purely for white noise. Each generator had two or three byte registers for control. What the program did was storing data in the registers, waiting for a given number of interrupts, and then rewriting the register values.

Mitsunori programmed his own sound engine and wrote the music in assembly.
