Mitsuhiko Takano is a Japanese composer and sound designer. In 1991, he joined TOSE along with his friend Shinji Amagishi. They didn't work together at TOSE, but when Mitsuhiko and Shinji both moved to Capcom, Takano usually composed the music while Amagishi would write the sound effects.
Takano currently lives in Asahi-ku, Osaka, Japan, still composing video game music.
Music Development
NES
Mitsuhiko wrote the music in 6502 assembly using TOSE's sound driver.
SNES
Mitsuhiko used Tose's variant of Nintendo's Kankichi-kun sound software. The instruments were taken from various keyboards including the Yamaha SY22 and Roland D-70.
Gameography
Note: Tetris 2 has different music in the SNES version. We have received verification from Mitsuhiko that he composed all ports of the game. Also, the Canadian Copyright Database also lists a 'Mitsuhiro Takano' with the same address as Mitsuhiko's.
