Junichi Masuda was a Japanese composer, sound designer, and sound programmer who was the main composer at Game Freak. He has been working there as their main composer ever since 1989. Masuda has composed a vast majority of the Pokemon games. He currently lives in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. He also attended the Japan Electronics College for computer graphics.
Music Development
GBA
On Pokémon, Masuda used Nintendo's modified MP2K sound engine.
Genesis
Masuda used the SMPS sound engine by Sega. In particular, the 68000 version.
Nintendo DS
Masuda used Nintendo's Nitro Composer sound driver.
