Hirohiko Takayama is a Japanese composer and sound designer. He was born on May 5, 1966 in Tokyo, Japan.

Takayama started his video game music career working for Atlus, scoring the music to their game Xexyz which made him a known composer. He also scored the music to a few games that have had bad reputations, such as The Karate Kid, and Friday the 13th. He also had the honor of composing the only two games that used all eight channels in Namco's Japan-exclusive N163 chip for the Famicom. In 1998, he founded AON-DO where people could listen to samples of his latest work and buy them. Hiro also teaches at a college in Japan and writes books on music composing, software, etc. He currently runs his own website and sells his current music on iTunes.

Music Composition

NES

I've written several NES songs on MS-DOS assembly language as HEX code. But before that, I composed with the piano and synthesizer.

While working at Atlus, Hirohiko used a sound driver by Tsukasa Masuko, in which he wrote the music in hexadecimal on MS-DOS.
