Platform: DOS
Year: 1993
Developer: Adept Software

God of Thunder is a 2D action adventure game with puzzle elements based loosly on Norse mythology. You play as Thor, the Thunder God, embodied on Earth with your trusty hammer Mjolnir as your weapon. It is up to you to save the people of Midgard from gods of evil.

God of Thunder uses typical birds-eye-view mechanics. You move Thor around the screen throwing your hammer at monsters while collecting treasure and power-ups. Various items and spells are collected throughout the game to make you stronger. What makes the game more interesting than most is that it has a coherent plot and story line through the entire game. You have to interact with NPCs and perform tasks in order to progress the game. There are also intricate puzzles to solve based on pushing blocks and finding keys.
