Get Item Jingle
The Get Item Jingle was composed by Hirokazu Tanaka for the game Metroid (NES). Metroid went on to become a very popular franchise for Nintendo, and many of the sequels reuse this jingle. Originally, the tune was played each time Samus collected a new item. Later games used it for various positive events as well.
The title of this tune comes from the Game Sound Museum ~Famicom Edition~ 12 Metroid album.
The game Ys III: Wanderers From Ys uses a very similar tune when you get an item.
You will hear the Get Item Jingle every time Samus discovers a new item.
Metroid was also released on the PlayChoice 10, which features identical music to the NES port.
The NES version of the song is featured on the Game Sound Museum ~Famicom Edition~ 12 Metroid and Famicom 20th Anniversary: Original Sound Tracks, Vol. 1 albums.
Metroid II: Return of Samus (GB)
Super Metroid (SNES)
Like the NES port, the Get Item Jingle plays when Samus obtains a new item.
Metroid Fusion (GBA)
In addition to playing the Get Item Jingle upon receiving a new power up, the jingle is also played each time you open a security lock.
