Flight of the Bumblebee plays during the second round. According to Gavan, because of his going on tour, he had Tania Smith finish up the arrangement, though she was not yet an employee of Beam Software at the time. Gavan also explained that they had originally done the whole song, but due to space constraints on the cartridge, they had to cut down the track.

The song plays at 300 BPM, a tempo that, according to Gavan, was set by the programmers. Gavan and Tania wrote the music in Music Macro Language using Neil Brennan's version of Beam Software's NYNTH sound driver. Though the game was developed in Australia, a country that uses the PAL format, it plays in the same key as the original song, so Gavan and Tania probably did the arrangement with NTSC consoles in mind. In Ultima VII: The Black Gate (DOS), Flight of the Bumblebee is played in the Bee Cave where giant bees have made their hive. In the game, you must harvest their honey for a quest, and the game offers multiple ways to deal with the bees. Interestingly, the song ends with silence, and then a few odd notes.
