Year: 1987
Developer: Konami Corporation

Exciting Billiard (エキサイティング ビリヤード Ekisaitingu Biriyādo also known as Exciting Billiards) a pool game developed and published by Konami, which is the only pool game Konami developed for the NES.

The storyline isn't clear because it's explained in the manual. Your player must beat seven different pool sharks in order to become the American pool champion. You start off in New York City against Eric Kidd, then Stevie Nanda in the Bronx, Chicago Fats in Chicago, Lady Mirror in Las Vegas, Paul Silent in Florida, Eliza Beth in Beverly Hills, and finally Hustler Master in New York. To pass each stage, you must not only win a game of pool, but earn enough money to advance to the next stage.

You can also play a nine ball, rotation, or rack game with three other players.

Music

The music in Exciting Billiard is very well done, especially for 1987. The soundtrack consists of jazz improv, and the Disk System channel only betters the experience. The only bad thing about the music is that most of the songs are very short and tend to get repetitive, but because of how good the music was composed, it may take a while before it gets to your head. This was the first game that Atsushi Fujio was credited on, so it may have been his first game.

The stage 5 music is not present in the recording, as it is just sound effects. The ending music has yet to be uploaded. When it is ripped, it will be recorded and uploaded to this page. Alternatively, you can listen to the ending music here.

Exciting Billiard is Konami's first Famicom title to make use of the sample channel in its music.
