This page is for the Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome (W32) song, for more titles see Credits.

Credits is the song that is played when watching the credits for the game. It is the first of what would become a tradition in the series where the credits page had a quite different, more laid back, musical style.

The credits track was used as a kind of musical break to the artists, where completely different inspirations could be used in the song.

The track was composed by Stephen Rippy, Chris Rippy and Kevin McMullan. A more broad variety of instruments were used to create this piece of music. Stephen Rippy used his usual Boss DSS-330 synthesizer and E-mu ESI-32 sampler, but also played the bass and percussion on the track. In addition, Chris Rippy contributed by playing electric guitar and Kevin McMullan played a tabla. Surprisingly, one of the programmers, Mark Terrano, also joined in by playing a fife. The mixing and editing was done using SoundForge. It is the only track in the game that didn't have a MIDI version produced.

The song is listed as Rise of Rome Credits on the Ages Compilation, but the game title had been added later to make it easier to know which game it was from. Furthermore, the Music From the Ages album calls the song Rise of Rome End Credits, but this was a mistake.

The song title has been confirmed by Stephen Rippy.
