Chris Oberth was an American video game developer. He was noted for programming many Apple II games. Among his famous works are for the arcade game Anteater and his Apple II conversion Ardy the Aardvark.

Audio Development
Apple II
Oberth most likely wrote the sound and music for the games he programmed, as he was the sole developer. He most likely wrote the music in 6502 assembly.
NES
For the unreleased Days of Thunder NES game, Oberth wrote the music in 6502 assembly macros on Nick Eastridge's NES sound driver. In addition, Chris also slightly modified Nick's driver, and this variant was used in Dirty Harry (NES).
Aliases
Though Chris was never known to be credited under an alias, he was nicknamed "Obi-Wan" by some of his colleagues, in reference to the titular Star Wars character. This was most likely due to his last name sounding similar. Also, the source code for Days of Thunder credits him as OBE.
