Advanced Music Format was created by [[Digital Sound and Music Interface]]. It is a tracked format like [[MOD]], however, it supports a great number of additional features. AMF, like other tracked formats, stores digital audio samples--instead of just notes the way [[MIDI]] works. This allows AMF to sound better than MIDI without the need of an expensive MIDI synthesizer. Digital Sound and Music Interface Advanced Music Format (AMF) (also known as Asylum Music Format) was created by Otto Chrons. It is a tracked format like MOD, however, it supports a great number of additional features. AMF, like other tracked formats, stores digital audio samples--instead of just notes the way MIDI works. This allows AMF to sound better than MIDI without the need of an expensive MIDI synthesizer. Due to the extra digital samples, AMF takes up more space than MIDI, but less than digital audio.
