The ADL format was created by Coktel Vision. The format has a lot of similarities with MUS (AdLib) and SND (AdLib) formats, which were also used by Coktel Vision for earlier games like Gobliiins (DOS).

Most, if not all, music scores in this format were composed by Charles Callet.

How to Obtain

ADL files usually have to be extracted from game files. They are usually placed inside of ITK/STK resources, and may be additionally compressed in TOT and EXT archives. CoktelADL2VGM utility is very handy for extraction and conversion.

Technical

The format seems to be similar to MUS (AdLib), except the instrument timbres are stored internally and without names. Musical notation is also similar to MIDI but with some differences.
